History
  • In 1982
Linlang traces its origins to Jiangsu Glass Bottle Group, established in 1982 as a state-owned enterprise. To expand into international markets and improve product quality, we introduced advanced production equipment and management systems from Japan. During this stage, we also built a large-scale production base for ultra-hard glass, high-quality hard glass, and standard hard glass, ensuring consistent raw material supply.
  • In 2004
We began cooperation with Northwest Light Industry Institute and worked with professors from the Shanghai Institute of Glass. This collaboration supported the development of proprietary glass formulations and technical improvements, helping us enhance product performance and meet the requirements of global packaging markets.
  • In 2010
The company was officially renamed Linlang (Shanghai) Glass Products Company, continuing to expand the product range and focus on diversified glass packaging solutions for international customers.

Glass packaging holds a strong position among packaging materials due to its stable physical and chemical properties, making it suitable for products that require high standards in shelf life, safety, and presentation.

  • Chemical stability and safety
Glass is produced from natural raw materials such as silica sand, soda ash, and limestone, often combined with recycled glass to support efficient production. Its inert nature means it does not react with contents or release harmful substances, helping maintain product purity. This makes it widely used in food products such as beer and sauces, as well as pharmaceuticals including vaccines. It is also recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS).
  • Barrier performance
Glass provides effective protection against oxygen, moisture, and light, including ultraviolet radiation. Colored glass can block up to 99.9% of UV exposure, helping protect light-sensitive products and maintain quality over time.
  • Sustainability
Glass supports circular use and can be recycled repeatedly without loss of quality. More than 80% of recovered glass is used to produce new containers, reducing the need for raw materials. Recycling 1 ton of glass can save approximately 1.16 tons of raw materials, supporting resource efficiency.
  • Aesthetic and functional value
The transparency of glass allows clear visibility of contents, while flexible design options enable different shapes and colors for brand presentation. The material maintains its form during production and stacking, supporting automated manufacturing and transport, though care is required during handling due to its lower impact resistance.
  • Application range
Glass packaging is used across food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries. While alternative materials may offer advantages in weight and cost, glass remains preferred where product protection, safety, and presentation are priorities.
